Why do we do what we do?
Because Romans 10:14-15 compels and encourages us to bring the good news! It says: 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news !"
We see our “preaching” responsibilities as showing the love of Jesus Christ in practical ways by supporting local pastors/leaders in small/growing Bible-preaching, Jesus-honoring churches in Latin America through short-term mission trips to assist in:
* Construction/renovation of church meeting facilities
* Renovation/construction of homes for the poor in the church community
* Supplying teaching and programming teams for children’s programs such as after-school programs, vacation bible and sports outreach projects
* Evangelistic outreach support such as presentation of the Jesus film to various communities within reach of the church.
* Anything else that God leads us to do to show His unconditional love in practical ways to the local pastors/leaders and the people they serve.
We would love to have you join us on a short term mission trip. There are several opportunities available for you to join a team. Click the above link to find out more information on when and where we are going.

The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16b NIV
Prayer is the most important tool God gives to his people. To be able to lift your needs and requests to Him is a very powerful privilege we have been given as his adopted sons and daughters. Without prayer very little can be accomplished. We need any and all willing to lift up these works of service to our Father in Heaven. Thank you for being willing to be on this important team.
Gifts to support mission trips sponsored by Woodstock Community Church are tax deductible. Checks must be made out to Woodstock Community Church. The donor may list a “mission trip” and a “missionary” by writing the names in the check memo (example: Honduras Mission Trip—Tina & Tara Davis). Should the mission trip become over-funded, WCC will use the excess funds for mission activity to be determined by WCC. In the unlikely event that the mission trip is changed or canceled, or the missionary is unable to make the mission trip, WCC will use the collected funds for mission activity to be determined by WCC.
IT ALL STARTED WITH A HURRICANE!
Remember Hurricane Mitch back in 1998? While we do not fully understand God’s purpose in that disaster, one of the many blessings that came out of it is the relationship that was forged between Woodstock Community Church and Iglesia Gran Comision in La Ceiba, Honduras. The relationship began in October 1999 when a team of short-term missionaries from WCC went to La Ceiba to help build a health clinic. Not only did we get to support the church by expressing God’s love through manual labor, but we also got opportunities to share the Gospel with people in the community.
Since our first visit to Honduras WCC teams have returned year after year to support the local pastors in practical ways such as assisting in the construction of church facilities and homes for the poor as well as participating in community outreach, children’s after-school programs and providing health care professionals to assist in the clinic.
In 2008 we expanded our horizon to include serving Calvary Chapel Puerto Vallarta, a small evangelical church which ministers to a poverty-stricken community at the city dump of this resort city.
Our first team was made up of saints from 4 different churches whose assignment was to install 1700 square feet of floor tile in the mission school building, prepare a meal for the children each day and help with the teaching as needed. In our “spare” time we repaired commodes, installed showers and lights, etc. in the team house.
Over the last few years our efforts in Puerto Vallarta have included more improvements to the mission school and church facility as well as renovation and construction of homes for families of the mission school children.
Last trip God has even provided an opportunity to support two small rural churches 2 hours south of Puerto Vallarta through showing of the Jesus Film which yielded many public confessions of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!
Our prayer here at Woodstock community Church is that it will not take a disaster such as Hurricane Mitch to keep us aware of the wonderful opportunities we have to “preach the Gospel” in practical ways by supporting the local churches in Latin America that He calls us to serve.
